Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the roles which we advertised recently for England's new Further Education improvement body. This is a new sector-owned organisation dedicated to developing and supporting excellent further education in England. Millions of people and thousands of businesses depend on the FE sector to give them the skills and knowledge they need. It's a huge responsibility, but equally a huge honour to deliver.

We are now clear about our mission. It is reformulation, not reform. It is about leadership and inspiration. And it is about continuing to deliver high standards and varied opportunities for learners. This is the true spirit of FE.

This is our second attempt to recruit a Chief Executive, underlining the personal importance I place on getting exactly the right person for the challenges that lay ahead. As a body, we are aiming for nothing less that world-class performance. And world class is exactly what we are looking for in our chief executive.

We know the organisation will have to develop fast. This will bring pressures on staff and our Board of Directors alike. So we need individuals who can quickly win the confidence of the FE sector; who can help us develop a vision; and most of all, who have the passion to take control of this rare opportunity.
